Finishes-Satin Oils & Stains

Finishing includes stripping the shell down to natural wood, 5-step sanding process: 120, 220, 320, 400 grit step down. Then staining or oiling, three coats with steel wool rub-out for a glass surface finish.
The oil finishes are painstakingly applied by John, at an average of 5 hours per drum depending on the size. This technique provides the most gorgeous natural wood finish possible, accented with beautiful chrome, brass or black hardware.

Stains are a varied as a rainbow. These finishes will receive the same rigorous attention as the oils. The same process is employed, just staining the shell first, resulting in a glass surface finish over the stain chosen.
